42nd Annual Maple Leaf Festival - Carthage, MO
Dates: Saturday, October 11 - Saturday, October 18 Description: This week-long celebration features a variety of events ranging from the Annual Queen Pageant to the Three Minutes of Fame Lip-Sync Competition. The festival finale on Saturday the 18th begins with the Largest Parade in Southwest Missouri at 9:00AM followed by a variety of special events centered around more than 80 craft booths and food vendors set-up on the historic Carthage square. Powers Museum:
Museum Mission & History
For a generation now, the Powers Museum has focused on Carthage's history with annual exhibits of selected themes from the post Civil War period to the 20th century. Also, the museum has fostered the study of Carthage history through use of its archives and reference library, by providing educational programming on-site and off-site, and by producing cooperative community events such as Chautauqua.

Kids Maple Leaf Dog Show Date: Saturday, October 18th Time: 1:00 pm, 12:15 pm registration Location: Central Pet Care Parking Lot (224 W. Central Ave.) Description: Kids must be 13 and under to register a dog. Dogs must be 60 lbs. or under to be qualified for contest.
